MATERIAL COMPOSITION & CORROSION RESISTANCE
The corrosion resistance of 304 stainless steel comes mainly from chromium (≥18%), which forms a protective self-passivating oxide film on the surface. Alloying elements like nickel, molybdenum, titanium, niobium, and nitrogen further enhance toughness, mechanical properties, and resistance to harsh environments.
CLASSIFICATION BY MANUFACTURING PROCESS
- Seamless Pipe: Produced by hot rolling, cold rolling, or cold drawing. Features no welds, high precision, and excellent pressure resistance.
- Welded Pipe: Made by welding, more cost-effective, suitable for low-pressure and general applications.
